Bonbori Festival was held

Bonbori Festival was held from 6th to 9th August.
During the Bonbori Festival, Nagoshi-sai, a purification ritual to mark the end of summer on 6th, Risshu-sai, ritual for the arrival of autumn on 7th, and Sanetomo-sai, which commemorates the birthday of Minamoto no Sanetomo on 9th were conducted even in the situation of COVID-19, although the schedule was partly changed.
About 400 bonbori paper lanterns drawn by artists and celebrities were displayed in the precinct.
They were lighted one by one after sunset by shrine maidens, and the precinct was filled with visionary lights and visitors under favorable weather conditions.
