(Basic Policy for the Protection of Personal Information)

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu (hereafter referred to as "the shrine") performs rituals and promotes divine virtue, and prays for the peace and tranquility of all worshippers and visitors to the shrine, under the blessings of Hachiman.
What is personal information?
Personal information refers to information that can be used to identify a specific individual. Personal information is also defined as information that can be easily combined with other information to identify a specific individual as a result.
This includes information such as your name written at the shrine and information provided at the time of registration or application on the website.
The shrine takes practical security measures to prevent unauthorized access to personal information, as well as the loss, alteration or leakage of personal information. An encryption system (SSL) is used for the transmission of personal information through the website to ensure the safety of your personal information.
How we use and manage personal information
We will only use your personal information for legitimate purposes, such as providing you with information on rituals and events, and sending you our newsletter, which contains news about our shrine.
Your personal information will be stored under the strictest possible control. We will not disclose or provide your personal information to any third party without your permission, except in special circumstances, such as when we are obliged to disclose it by law, or when it is temporarily handled by an external organization commissioned by the shrine to ensure the smooth operation of the information when it is used for the purposes for which it was collected.
We will use the personal information we hold in our possession in an appropriate manner, and in order to ensure its thorough protection, we will comply with all laws and regulations, and we will review and improve the measures taken in the above paragraphs from time to time.
Responsibility of ujiko worshippers
As a religious organization, the activities of the shrine are not directly subject to the obligations of business operators handling personal information as set forth in Article 50 of the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, but as a trustee of your personal information, we will respect the purpose of the Act and strive to implement various measures in accordance with it.
