Offering of Food to the Kami

Every morning at Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, we offer rice, sake, vegetables, fruits, and other offerings to Hachiman okami to pray for the prosperity of the Imperial Family and the nation. This ritual is called onikkusai, the offering itself is called shinsen, and the gathering to consecrate the daily offerings to the gods is called onikkukensenkou.
In addition to paying your respects to Hachiman okami, you will also be praying for the safety of your family and the health of your body. You may choose the date of the offering, and attend the ritual on that day. In addition, once a year, we will hold a onikkukensenkou festival for the shrine’s worshippers. Why don't you and your family attend the offering ritual in the early morning at the shrine hall on a special day such as your birthday or wedding anniversary?
